Welcome to the Roe household blog. We're attempting to post 365 days of pictures in a Roe. Cork and I have been married since 2002 and welcomed identical daughters in August of 2009 after a struggle with infertility. Our girls were definitely worth the wait and I say they were destined to be here because they were conceived on my birthday, due on my sister's birthday and born on my grandma's birthday. What are the chances of that! We welcomed our third daughter in June of 2012. We all fell in love with her right away. She has two amazing older sisters who love to watch over her.

Presents

We have so many art supplies right now. I decided that our small plastic containers weren't cutting it anymore. We bought a plastic cart with drawers today and I put all the supplies in there. They were super organized for a few minutes and then the Twinado hit. It's amazing what they can do in a short period of time. Thankfully, they are finally getting good at cleaning stuff up. Obviously they aren't perfect, but we had them clean most of their mess up and I just had to reorganize the drawers.

I left one pipe cleaner out on the floor on purpose because Sikozu likes to play with them. It didn't take the girls long to figure this out.

I walked into the bathroom today and asked the girls which one left a poopoo in the toilet. Arya yelled "my did." Eiley then came in to see the poo. I told her she already knew what it looked like and asked her to tell me, she said it looked like "a present." LOL. Guess we might need to stop saying Zia left a present in her diaper.

Tippity Tap

We were getting ready to leave the house this morning and Arya did not want her hair brushed. Her hair was out of control so I told her that if she didn't brush her hair it might scare people. Eiley then said "yeah and people might die." LOL! Not where I was going with that one. I don't think Eiley understands the concept of death right now.

We were trying to head out the door to go to a consignment sale. Miss Zia is not going to fit into the twin infant clothes in the right season, so I needed a few things for her to wear, especially pajamas. Apparently we borrowed a lot of 6-9 months pajamas because we don't have any that I can find. Right now I have to laugh because I realized that we must have at least 2 pairs because as I typed this a picture of a certain pair of pajamas popped into my head. Oh well, Zia will have a few extra pairs. Anyway, we got Zia some great things. We didn't buy any clothes for the twins since we are set for them, but we did buy them tap shoes. They are the best money we've spent in a long time! These two LOVED stomping around town in their tap shoes today. They got plenty of attention as they tapped their way through a restaurant and multiple stores.

New Seat

If Zia is awake while we eat, she's been sitting in her bouncy seat. I always look down at her and talk, but I feel bad that she's just sitting there, so close to the floor. I got out one of our high chairs today to see how she liked it. She loved it! She was sleeping during most of dinner tonight, but happily sat in her chair and watched us while she was awake. I don't think we'll be using the bouncy seat in the kitchen much any more. I just have to make sure the twins don't continue to put popcorn on her tray.

Arya, Eiley and I had a tea party today. I made some ginger tea and we sat down and had tea together. It was there idea. They were wearing the dresses they wore for the wedding last month. We went to the library with them in those dresses too. They got a lot of compliments while we were there. When we got home, one of their friends came to see if they could go to her house and play. Arya went there first since she had shoes on. Eiley threw a mini fit and finally decided to put her shoes on so she could go too. She looked so adorable leaving the house. She had her party dress on and sparkly shoes. Then I saw her from behind. Her dress was tucked up into her under wear.

Spit Bubbles

The girls helped cook dinner. Which meant I had a lot more clean up than usual, but we had fun, so it was worth it.

I love her spit bubbles while she sleeps.

Barbie Graveyard

After school today, we stayed at the gym for an open gym time. I brought a snack for the girls, but they were so excited to go into the gym and play with one of their teachers from last year, that they didn't want to their snack. Bad idea! Next time I will make sure they eat before playing. By the time we got home it was melt down city. I could not get them to eat because they were so hungry and throwing so many fits. I was feeding them peach and zucchini soup, both of which they love, so it wasn't that they didn't like the food. They just couldn't calm down long enough to eat.

Once I got the twins to finally eat, I dragged out some costumes from the basement and they spent most of the rest of the day in them. They took them off for dinner and for art time. I did not want to get glue all over costumes. Even Zia got into the costume mix.

At one point, one of them asked if I had Barbies. I have some in the house from when I was a kid, so I got them out and instantly cracked up at the Barbie Grave Yard. I did a little of this when I was young, but most of it was done by my niece. She must have copied me and the Barbies were so old that the plastic cracked when pulled apart and none of the pieces will go back together. Neither kid cared and they played anyway. They did have a Ken, Skipper and baby to play with that were whole. Arya made baby breast feed from Barbia.

Pout

Zia was so cute playing on the floor today. She's almost always in a super great mood.

While she was on the floor. Arya was throwing a little pouty fit in my lap.

Chalk Dresses

Who doesn't like to play with chalk in a nice dress?

Goofy Zia. She's staring up at her sisters who are always in her face.

3 Month Comparison

It's time for a monthly comparison. A month ago, I didn't think Zia looked anything like the twins at that age. I still think she looks different than them, but I also think they looked different from each other. I do think she looks more like Arya than Eiley at this age.

Ballerina Kitties

The girls gave me their first request today for a Halloween costume. I don't remember who said it first, but as of today, they want to be ballerina kitties.

Bag Ladies

Everyone likes to watch cartoons in a big bag...don't they? They originally had plastic bags on their heads. We put an end to that, but they weren't happy, so Cork offered them a paper bag in the plastic's place. They happily took the bags and then got distracted by the tv. Instead of putting their heads in the bag, they put everything else into them.

Neglectasaucer

We were playing in the girls' kitchen today and Arya called Cork on her phone to let him know his banana pancakes were done. This was the first time she had a full one sided conversation on the phone. Usually it's a simple "hello, bye" type thing. She kept talking and then would respond as if Cork was asking her questions on the other end.

I put Zia in her neglectasaucer for the first time today. She loved it! I only left her in there for a couple minutes because her feet don't quite touch the ground and I didn't have anything under her to stand on. She would have happily spent more time in there.

My youngest siblings and I all made plates as children. We drew on pieces of paper, sent those away and the drawings were put onto a plate. My youngest brother uses his when he brings appetizers to a family dinner. We recently asked my parents what they thought of the plate the first time they saw it because he had drawn a big red pen.i.s on it. Of course that wasn't what it was supposed to be, but that's what it looked like. Miss Arya drew a bunch of these today. I now know how my parents felt. She hung this on the fridge herself and I cracked up when I walked into the kitchen and saw it.

Issues

The girls stole some crackers about 30 minutes before lunch today. Of course they didn't want to eat their lunch. I told them they didn't have to eat it, but when they kept asking for suckers and candy I had to turn them down. They, Arya especially, were not happy. She spent about an hour throwing a fit off and on before we left to go to a park. While at the park, she finally decided to eat the sandwich she asked for earlier. She turned to me while eating it and said "Momma, I was having issues." I couldn't help but laugh. I've never said this to them, but they listen to everything I say. I know I've been on the phone with Cork and told him the girls were "having issues" that day. I thought it was a nice way of saying the girls are throwing tantrums and being a pain in the ass today They both zonked out on the way home from the park and I just let them sleep. That's the second time they've napped this week. I think the cold they have and being back in school are both really wearing them out.

Cork was not home for dinner, so we had Mickey pancakes at the girls' request. I put the batter in an old ketchup container and was able to make stars, squares and a bunch of other shapes they asked me for after the first batch of Mickeys. They both ate 5 or 6 pancakes. They must have been starving. They never eat that much at dinner, even when it's something they really love.

Glow Sticks

Everyone in this house has a cold right now. Since no one has a fever, the older two still went to school today. Once we got home, I asked Arya if she blew her nose at school. She said "no, I just lick" and proceeded to show me how she licked the snot that dripped down toward her mouth. Wonderful.

Does this candle look appetizing to you? It was in a Halloween decoration and Eiley must have thought it was candy because she took a huge bite out of it.

During bath time tonight, I shut the blinds, turned off the lights and let the girls play with glow sticks. This was a HUGE hit. It's a nice time of year to do this because the bathroom is light enough that I can still see them, but the glow sticks really glow.

First Dentist Trip

Arya and Eiley had their first dental appointment today. It went pretty much as I expected. Eiley let the hygienist look in her mouth and count her teeth, but clamped up and was going to throw a fit if the hygienist tried anything else. Arya on the other hand hammed it up and let the hygienist clean her teeth. She loved it and even let the dentist poke at her teeth after her cleaning. Eiley then decided to get back in the chair because Arya got to pick out 2 little prizes for getting her teeth cleaned. Of course Eiley still wouldn't let the hygienist clean her teeth. Both sets of teeth look great from what they allowed the dentist and hygienist to see. This was a regular and not a kid dental office, but the staff was awesome. The receptionist put Dora on for the girls while we waited. The hygienist is the same one Cork and I go to. She has 4 boys of her own and the youngest isn't much older than the twins. She was great with them and didn't push them at all. She showed them all the tools before starting and had fun names for them. She really made the girls feel comfortable.

Arya was so sweet tonight. I am trying to get Zia to go to bed at an earlier time. She likes to take a short nap around 7:00 and then not go to bed until sometime between 9:30 and 10:30. I would much rather she stop that nap and go to bed before 9:30. Tonight, I nursed her in the dark in my room and put her down while she was completely asleep. I was hoping the darkness would help her stay asleep. No such luck. I was downstairs for about 2 minutes before I heard her stirring. I decided to give her a minute or two and see if she'd put herself back to sleep or not. During the day she's getting good at falling asleep on her own. She was not going back to sleep tonight and actually started crying. She does not cry. I went upstairs to get her and Arya was already in my room trying to sooth Zia. I don't know if Arya was awake and heard Zia or if Zia's crying woke her up, but she wanted to stay in my room with Zia so Zia could sleep. I let her stay in my room, but Zia went back downstairs with me because she was not going to sleep.

Playdough Poo

Does anyone else make playdough poop chunks for their kids on a rainy afternoon? It kept the girls entertained for a long time.

Double Bangs

We got up this morning from our camping excursion and gave all of the girls a bath. They were so dirty from yesterday, but we didn't bath them since we were "camping". The older 2 made sure they were dirty again shortly after getting out of the bath. Before they got themselves dirty, I gave them both a trim and cut Arya's bangs. I have to admit that Eiley did a better job on her bangs than I did on Arya's. Sad! Arya's don't look bad, but Eiley's look better.

Backyard Camping

Arya and Eiley recently asked if we could go camping. We looked at a bunch of weekends and finally decided to just camp in our backyard. It was so nice! The girls had a great time and we didn't have to pack up the car for a one night stay. We grilled out and even cooked marshmallows in a fire pit. I think Zia probably slept better than anyone else in the tent. She didn't wake until 3:30 am to eat. She never goes that long between her middle of the night snacks. Arya woke up a few times crying, but wouldn't or couldn't tell us why. I think it was because they got to bed so late.

Little Movers

This poor toy has hair like mine. Someone brushed it out and it's now out of control. I tried to tame it, but obviously failed.

They still love to move things as much as they did a couple years ago.

Newborn Diapers

How many 3 year olds can squeeze into a newborn diaper?

So cute! She loves to eat those hands.

Fuzzy and Fuzzy 2

Eiley was very needy today. Any time I tried to get anything done she would be destructive, throw a fit, make a mess etc. we talked about it, but she couldn't tell me why. So, I didn't get anything done, but we played. I drew a bunch of dinosaurs outside. Meet Fuzzy and Fuzzy 2. Arya named them, then asked me to take their photo. "They can't say cheese cause they dinosaurs" according to her.

The older 2 are starting to draw things that actually look like things. Check out this person.

How cute is this? Arya loves to cuddle up next to Zia.

Outside Climbing

My free spirit daughters were running all over the backyard today as I cleaned. I looked out to see them climbing on the outside of the playset from the slide to the ladder. When I told Eiley not to do it, she told me "but Arya did". Because that makes it okay.

I was vacuuming their room, which has hard wood floors, as they played downstairs. You can really hear the vacuum in the kitchen when it's in their room. They came upstairs to tell me that they heard a noise and that it was a bear, or a dinosaur, or a octopus, or a lamb, or a bee.

Save Some Beer for Me

It was Arya and Eiley's first day of school today. I had to tell them I would take their backpacks if they wouldn't let me get a good picture of them. They were bouncing off the walls. They picked out their outfits last night and both teachers commented on them. It was nice for them to know which girl was which.

We made beer bread this afternoon. Apparently, not all the beer got poured into the batter. I was cleaning up and heard Arya scream at Eiley "save some beer for me."
