Welcome to the Roe household blog. We're attempting to post 365 days of pictures in a Roe. Cork and I have been married since 2002 and welcomed identical daughters in August of 2009 after a struggle with infertility. Our girls were definitely worth the wait and I say they were destined to be here because they were conceived on my birthday, due on my sister's birthday and born on my grandma's birthday. What are the chances of that! We welcomed our third daughter in June of 2012. We all fell in love with her right away. She has two amazing older sisters who love to watch over her.

Times They Are A Changing

We have had a big couple of days. Cork and I switched the kiddos car seats out, so they are now in their convertible seats. My back couldn't take lugging both car seats around and I was taking them in and out of the infant carriers at every stop. The kids also hated the infant seats. They seem to really like the new seats. I hear more talking and giggles and less screaming.

Our other big change happened today. We went and picked up the helmets. The girls had to wear them an hour on and an hour off today. They won't start sleeping in them until Sunday. By Tuesday they'll be wearing them 23 hours per day. We were told some kids really do not like the helmet in the beginning. Arya and Eiley don't seem to mind them at all. They even conked out in the car on the way home.
I thought the helmets would solve our tandem nursing issues. The girls tandem nurse just fine in the middle of the night. During the day, when they are awake, they pick on each other while they nurse. Arya especially loves to poke at Eiley's head. They both found the hole at the top of the helmets and are using it to pick on each other.

Cat Toy Fever

I knew it was only a matter of time before the cat toys became fair game. I threw them in the washer a couple weeks ago in anticipation. The cats only play with a few of the toys and none of those were in the toy box. I let them go wild today and had a little fun of my own.

Eating Rainbow

I take time almost every day to read books to the girls. They use the time to wrestle around me and try to eat the books.

Daredevil

Both of my kids are pretty fearless. Arya is a bit more of a daredevil than Eiley. She constantly tries to let go of things while she's standing. She loves to be thrown around and nothing seems to phase her. Today she seemed super sleepy and I plopped her in her carseat so I could use the bathroom before going to the gym. I know, shame on me, because she wasn't strapped in. I was in the bathroom for maybe five seconds when I heard her carseat toys jingle and a little thud. I figured nothing had happened because she didn't cry. I should have known better because she falls all the time without crying. She'd propelled her way out of the carseat and onto the floor, tipping the seat over backwards in the process. She was happily playing with Eiley's feet and greeted me with a huge grin.

On Bended Knee

It looks like Eiley won't be too far behind Arya in the standing and all fours department. I found her like this next to her toy today. It's the first time I've seen her bend her legs under her to try to get up. Usually she tries to strong arm herself into a standing position with straight legs.

Four Square

Arya is doing things a little backwards. She finally figured out how to get onto her hands and knees. She didn't quite figure out how to crawl or how to get back down. She pushed up from her knees to her feet and then was stuck with her little toes curled under.

OGBH

Two years ago today we woke up in Hallstatt, Austria and then took a train to Munich, Germany. We figured it would be very fitting to go to lunch at the Old German Beer Hall to celebrate May Day. The kids were very interested in both our food and beer. I think they're a little young yet.
