Zia Puppy

I can't remember if I have said this before, but I love how when someone tells the kids "Thank you" they both reply with "I welcome."

Zia is like my little puppy. She's always happy and she tries to eat everything she shouldn't. I found her today with paper in her mouth. I have taught her, just like the twins, to open her mouth when I say "ahhhh". She doesn't always do it, but most of the time she does and I can see what's there and then try to get her to give it to me. Today, I told her to say "Ahhh" and as I had my mouth open doing that she blew a raspberry and spit a big spitball of paper right into my mouth. Of course she cracked up at my reaction.

I mowed the lawn today while Zia napped. Both of the twins were outside playing in their playset when I started. Eiley disapeared into the house and I didn't think anything of it. I finished mowing and then heard her screaming. I went to check on her and she was in the bathroom. The door wasn't locked and she can open it herself, so it took a minute to figure out what was going on. She had seen a fly, and thought it was a bee. She freaked out and ran inside, then shut herself in the bathroom because she was convinced it had followed her into the house. I felt awful. I didn't know she was afraid of bees. She's never been stung. Arya was stung last summer and I don't think it was very traumatic for her. She calmed right down as soon as I opened the bathroom door but at first when I asked what was wrong she told me that she didn't know.

I gave Eiley two plantain chips this afternoon. Then I gave her one more a few minutes later. She said "Momma, two and one makes three." Cork came home about an hour later and gave her another one. She told him she now had four. She's a smart little thing, especially since no one has worked on addition with her.

Great Memory

We went to a park today. I know the last time we were at that park was before Zia was born and I think it was the day before she was born. We pulled up to park and Eiley started talking about her hand and having a "prickly" in it. It took me a few seconds to understand and then I remembered that she got a sliver in her hand the last time we were at that park. Sometimes their little memories amazing me.

Speaking of memories. Eiley was singing Pumped Up Kicks today by Foster the People. While there are no swear words in it, it might not be the most appropriate song for a child to sing. She only sings the "All the other kids with the pumped up kicks" part for now. Looks like I might need to be a little more careful about what music is playing around the house.

Tattoo Sleeve

We were driving today and Eiley saw a man with his arm hanging out of his truck window. She said "that man's arm is all funky." His entire arm was full of tattoos. We had a discussion about tattoos about that. I would love to teach her that tattoos look really stupid, but I don't think that's the way to go about it. We just talked about how tattoos are done and how they are permanent and never go away. And of course that was thrown right back at me since they have temporary tattoos that do go away.

Chicken Eggy

Arya was eating eggs today and said "Come here little chicken eggy." The girls have both made the connection between the food we eat and animals. They will ask if the meat or fish they are eating died. We don't eat much meat and I don't think it would be an issue if either decided to be little vegetarians, but they both seem okay with their new found knowledge.

Later, I overheard her singing in the living room. "One little princess jumping on the bed, she fell off and pooped her pants." Such a sweet little girl.

We put our garden in today. Hopefully our new 5 foot fence will deter the deer from eating everything this year.

Poo Day

Poor Zia again. Another day, another standing poo picture.

Cork and his Girls

These are the pics I took of Cork and the girls. I purposely brought them to school without labeling them to see if the teachers knew which kid was which. They had no clue and asked that I label them.

Poor Zia. She had to poo today, so she crawled over to her slide and stood up to take care of business. And then I took a picture of her.

When I had the photos printed, one of them came back with a black spot on it, so we had to wait at the store while a new one was printed. I let the kids play in the toy aisle and they had a blast. A strange woman came up to us and kept trying to talk to the girls and look at them. They of course had no interest in her since they were playing. She was saying things like "Girl, hey girl, look at me". I don't think she's had much interaction with three year olds if she really thought that was going to make them want to stop what they were playing and look at her.

Zia slept on me this afternoon and we all played in the blue chair.

The Girls and Me

Eiley was sitting on the kitchen counter this morning, eating breakfast. She coughed pretty hard and said "I coughed so hard I even farted." Lovely child! I'm so glad she's farting on my kitchen counters.

I do not have enough pictures of the girls and me. I take a ton of photos, but very few with me in them. I needed photos for the girls to take into school of them with me and them with Cork. I had to take these today so we had something recent of them with us.

Zia is still not feeling well. She's having a rough month right now. She loves her kitty though and he's super tolerant with her.
