Welcome to the Roe household blog. We're attempting to post 365 days of pictures in a Roe. Cork and I have been married since 2002 and welcomed identical daughters in August of 2009 after a struggle with infertility. Our girls were definitely worth the wait and I say they were destined to be here because they were conceived on my birthday, due on my sister's birthday and born on my grandma's birthday. What are the chances of that! We welcomed our third daughter in June of 2012. We all fell in love with her right away. She has two amazing older sisters who love to watch over her.

No Poopoo Cow

Arya and Eiley each have one cow print diaper and they both love to wear it. I put them both in their cow diapers this morning and told them that if they poop in the potty they get to wear the diaper all day, but if they poop in the cow we would have to change it. Arya pooped in her diaper after lunch and as she was pooping she was saying "No poopoo. No poopoo cow." Sorry kiddo, you're not fooling me.

Advice From a 2 Year Old

The girls were up way too early this morning. Eiley let herself out of her room and we could hear her walking around, so we called her into our room. Of course Arya quickly followed. Neither slept though. Arya laid quietly for a while, but Eiley was all over the place. At one point Eiley was laying on me. Arya offered up "No bite mama Eiley" and we laughed, so she followed it with "me no bite too."

Eiley needs to watch out on the days she gets up too early. If she decides that falling asleep right before dinner is acceptable, then I might retaliate by putting fish crackers in her mouth and taking pictures of it.

If the Shoe Fits

The girls wanted to leave the house this afternoon, so I told them if they got their shoes we would leave. I came into the family room to find Eiley trying to help Arya put on her shoes.

Happy Halloween

Because the kids trick or treated yesterday and had done so many other Halloween related things lately, we didn't even bother to do anything for Halloween today. The girls and I had a busy morning and then just played at home this afternoon. This morning, we met their friend Lily at a library for a half hour of singing kid songs. Lily has a baby sister Lexi. Arya and Eiley played Baby Lexi this afternoon and took turns laying in the cradle.

Trick or Treat

Our city does Trick or Treat the Sunday before Halloween. This was the fourth time Arya and Eiley wore their outfits and the first time we got pictures. They have orange fake hair to wear and their wings are a little destroyed. They weren't into wearing the hair today. They had a great time trick or treating and so many houses gave them handfuls of candy. They only went to about 10 houses and came home with way more candy than they'll need. I'm sure Cork and I will help them with it.

Eiley wanted to wear her summer sun hat, so of course we let her. She cracked me up peering over the candy bowl once she got home.

Hiding

Eiley was hiding from us today. She was also cracking up. I guess she doesn't understand yet that she should be quiet if she's hiding.

Poopcapades

We still aren't actively potty training around here, but Arya really loves to use the potty. I was trying to gather the kids up this morning to get them showered and dressed so we could get out the door. Arya ran upstairs while I chased Eiley down. By the time I grabbed Eiley and went upstairs, Arya was sitting on the potty all by herself. Pretty impressive. She'd taken her pajamas and diaper off and climbed on up there. She's only ever used a small seat that sets into a toilet, she's never sat on just a regular toilet seat. She's so tiny that she could easily fall in. I was impressed at her balancing skills.

I wasn't so impressed with her timeline. She'd apparently po.oped in her diaper before shedding it and then climbed into the toilet. The joys of parenthood! I had to clean poop off of her, the floor, the wall and the toilet.
