Welcome to the Roe household blog. We're attempting to post 365 days of pictures in a Roe. Cork and I have been married since 2002 and welcomed identical daughters in August of 2009 after a struggle with infertility. Our girls were definitely worth the wait and I say they were destined to be here because they were conceived on my birthday, due on my sister's birthday and born on my grandma's birthday. What are the chances of that! We welcomed our third daughter in June of 2012. We all fell in love with her right away. She has two amazing older sisters who love to watch over her.

Beaners

I made an amazing polenta for dinner tonight and topped it with a squash sauce. I made the mistake of giving each kid a tiny dab of chevre on top of her serving. Arya ate the chevre last week once it was baked onto a pizza, but she usually won't eat it. I thought maybe she'd gotten past her distaste for it. Nope! Guess the baked chevre is different than when it's cold. Poor kid gagged on it and wouldn't touch her dinner again. Instead, she just wanted brownies. Normally I wouldn't give into this, but my niece and I made black bean brownies today. They're basically black beans, oatmeal, cocoa powder and pear with a few other things, including a little bit of honey. So, they're pretty much a complete meal disguised as dessert. She hate a few pieces of that and was done with her dinner.
