Welcome to the Roe household blog. We're attempting to post 365 days of pictures in a Roe. Cork and I have been married since 2002 and welcomed identical daughters in August of 2009 after a struggle with infertility. Our girls were definitely worth the wait and I say they were destined to be here because they were conceived on my birthday, due on my sister's birthday and born on my grandma's birthday. What are the chances of that! We welcomed our third daughter in June of 2012. We all fell in love with her right away. She has two amazing older sisters who love to watch over her.

Easter Doughnuts

We got up this morning and for the first time ever, decided to go buy doughnuts at the grocery store for the girls. They've had doughnuts, but we've never made a special trip just to go buy some. We got packed up and were at the store by around 7:00. The grocery store we went to was having an Easter Egg hunt for all the kids at 7:30, so we stuck around and they got to do that.

Later, we went to another egg hunt out in Brookfield. The girls were pros by this point and were very into the hunt.

TV Teeth

Someone put tooth paste on the tv yesterday. I'm not sure who, but I'm guessing it was Eiley as she pointed it out to me today and I found her with a tube of toothpaste and a toothbrush yesterday. I assumed she was just trying to brush her own teeth. I didn't realize she was trying to clean the tv and the tv stand.

I think baby #3 is going to be as active as her sisters. We've been able to see her moving for awhile now. I just finally took a short video of it tonight.

Easter Eggs

We went to a friend's house to dye Easter eggs today. The girls had loads of fun. We didn't dye eggs with them last year, mainly because I didn't think I could manage both of them coloring eggs at the same time. It was not easy today, but we managed to get it done with no spilled dye. We did have some cracked eggs, thankfully all the eggs were hard boiled.

Both kids were super tired this afternoon, so we tried to get them to bed early. We didn't. They got to bed at the normal time and then played for the next hour. I think they might be asleep now at 8:15. Neither has pajamas on, and most of their covers are on the floor, but they are in bed, so I'll take that as a win for me. I took a picture of them once they went to sleep.

Shut Ins

I have to bring cookies to preschool tomorrow. I was cutting them out and baking them today when I heard the girls going crazy in the living room. I walked in to find them giving the neighbors a show in the front window. I made them put pants on and then went back to baking.

After I finished baking, I started some of the leftover laundry from last night's puking. While I threw stuff in the laundry machine and dryer, they happily filled the sink with plastic cups. The sink was something the decided was a great toy today and I pulled them out of it over and over again. At one point, they gave up on the sink. I was on a cleaning frenzy since we were stuck in the house. I overheard one of them say "Not lots chocolate chips. Only couple chocolate chips." I had no idea they were in the cabinet until I heard this as they'd been super quiet. Thankfully they gave themselves away before they actually got any chocolate chips to eat.

Puke Patrol

I braided Arya's hair this morning before school and then Eiley asked me to do hers too. I was planning on taking a picture of them to show their first braids. I finished Eiley's, came out of the bathroom, and found Arya had already destroyed hers. She went to school with a barrette instead of a braid.

Eiley's braid stayed put until she started puking this afternoon. Poor kid. She puked the first time when she was in her swing outside. I wasn't sure if she was sick, or just a little dizzy from being pushed so long. I think I was in denial. She puked again after Cork got home. Normally, the girls just puke with no warning cough. I heard the cough this time while she was on Cork's lap. I was on my way into the living room and I told him he should move her to the hard floor. I obviously did not stress the importance of this. I walked back into the family room to see that she'd projectile puked over a about a 6 foot area. Cork had managed to swing her body as she vomited, so she hit just about all of our area rug, our coffee table, the hard floor and both laptops. Thankfully the laptops were closed. And as always, she also managed to puke all over Arya. Of course this was after I had bathed both of them this afternoon. Arya was so mad because she had on a new pair of pajamas that she'd picked out and they were covered in puke. She was not happy to have to change. I made her a puke bag after and she got pretty good about hitting it as long as we kept it close. She was not acting sick at all and even threw a little fit at dinner because she wanted to eat what we were having. We made her toast, which she did not eat at all. She fell asleep on Cork's lap and we thought maybe she was done. He put her in bed and she puked all over herself and the bed a couple minutes later.

Suspenders

I'm constantly asking A&E to pull up their pants. Poor kids are going to need suspenders if their legs keep growing and we have to go up in pant size before their waists catch up.

I Do

Cork asked the girls tonight "Who wants a bath?" Both kid's answered "I do!" I love that my 2 year olds are starting to have proper grammar. While they may be starting to use proper grammar, that doesn't mean they always listen well. They were putting apple peels on the floor today. I told them that they had to pick them up and put them back in their bowls when they were done. They picked them up, but put them on a chair and not in their bowls.
