Welcome to the Roe household blog. We're attempting to post 365 days of pictures in a Roe. Cork and I have been married since 2002 and welcomed identical daughters in August of 2009 after a struggle with infertility. Our girls were definitely worth the wait and I say they were destined to be here because they were conceived on my birthday, due on my sister's birthday and born on my grandma's birthday. What are the chances of that! We welcomed our third daughter in June of 2012. We all fell in love with her right away. She has two amazing older sisters who love to watch over her.

It's a Small World After All

We left home just before 5:00 am today. We wanted to get a little driving in before the kiddos woke up for the day as we weren't sure how they'd do in the car. They did much better than we expected. They had melt downs and were angry about being in one place for so long, but they slept and played more than I thought they would. We bought them a few used toys before leaving and moved some crib toys into the car. They can kick their aquarium and jungle musical things on and off. By the end of the day, the batteries were low and my sanity was almost gone from the music, but it was better than them screaming.

We stopped for lunch in Iowa, west of Des Moines. We were invited to join another couple and their daughter at a picnic table. We got to talking and found out that he grew up in Rockford and she grew up just outside of Madison. They both got their undergrads at Madison. They even know people we know. To top it off, they are headed to Steamboat Springs Colorado, which is where we are going. Sometimes it's a very small world.

We stopped for gas at a truck stop and I used the bathroom. On my way out of the building, a really scary looking guy says to me "Well, Hello Curly!" as I walked past. It's funny now, but he totally creeped me out at the time. I just kept on walking and didn't acknowledge that he'd said anything. He kept on talking to me as I went by, but I don't know what he said.
