Welcome to the Roe household blog. We're attempting to post 365 days of pictures in a Roe. Cork and I have been married since 2002 and welcomed identical daughters in August of 2009 after a struggle with infertility. Our girls were definitely worth the wait and I say they were destined to be here because they were conceived on my birthday, due on my sister's birthday and born on my grandma's birthday. What are the chances of that! We welcomed our third daughter in June of 2012. We all fell in love with her right away. She has two amazing older sisters who love to watch over her.

Orange For Owen

I dressed the girls in orange today for a local baby named Owen. Owen was a triplet who recently passed away from SIDS. While I've never met his parents, they must be amazing people as they donated his organs. People from all over are taking pictures of themselves or their kids dressed in orange as that was the color Owen wore. His surviving triplets have their own colors that matched their names as well. I first heard about Owen from another triplet blog that I periodically read, then I started hearing about him from people like my neighbor. I didn't realize that Owen and his family lived where we do. Last week, a local radio station held their annual fund raiser for the local Children's Hospital and we made our annual donation. While the radio station was raising over $1.36 million in 2 days for the hospital, this family was deciding to let their baby give the gift of life to 3 other people around the country. I wish that we did not need a Children's Hospital in our area and hope that we never have to use it, but I am glad that it is so close and that the community supports it as they do.
