We got our first snow of the season today. It snowed for a couple hours, but big drifty flakes that didn't accumulate on the ground. I was going to take the kids outside to play this afternoon, but it had stopped by then. We did go out, but there were no flakes for them to enjoy. We went to the grocery store and they rode in one of those carts with the car at the front. It was hilarious to watch them climb over each other and hang out of the doors while I pushed the cart. Locking them in would not have done anything because my two little Houdinis would have slipped out of the lap belt.
I am trying more and more to distract them at 5:00 when they turn into little devils. I'm still looking forward to the day that they no longer participate in the witching hour. Tonight's distractions included sending them on a hunt for their pacifiers, which were right next to me on kitchen counter, but they didn't know that. When they came back empty handed, I told them to "thump". They both laid right now and happily kicked their shoes on the floor.
